The Hellenic Seniors Society of Calgary:

​A social club for seniors of Hellenic descent who live in Calgary and surrounding areas.

Founded in 2007, the Hellenic Seniors Society of Calgary (HSSC) is a not-for-profit social club dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors of Hellenic descent in Calgary. With a membership of approximately 200 individuals, many of whom emigrated from Greece in the 1950s and 1960s, HSSC provides a vibrant community where members can stay socially, physically, and mentally active while celebrating their Greek heritage.

Our society organizes a wide range of events and programs aimed at promoting well-being and reducing social isolation among its members. These activities also extend to supporting local charitable causes and partnering with organizations like Bow Cliff Seniors for administrative support. To date we have donated over $250,000 to local and national charities.

HSSC is governed by an elected Board of Directors, including a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and various committee heads. The society maintains strong ties with the Hellenic Community of Calgary, St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church and the Hellenic Society of Calgary, continuing the legacy of its founding members who established the Greek community in the region in the late 1950s.
